Died- 4 September 1859, Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India 

Private George James Gaite was born in 1839. He served as "Private" in 6 th Royal Regiment. His Regiment was part of Jounpore Field Force and was given the task to suppress the Revolt in Jounpore. He participated in Suppression of Revolt in Jounpore , 1859( Part of 1857 Revolt) and was killed in action on 4 September 1859 in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. His memorial was erected by his comrades of HM 6 th Royal Regiment.
