William Bedford Peppin was born on 3 April 1834 at Bangalore , Karnataka, India to Apothecary William Peppin, Madras Subordinate Medical Department and Frances Bourne McMichael. He entered the Bengal Police in 1864.
CAREER (1864- 1876)
6 June 1864- September 1864- William Bedford Peppin entered the Bengal Police Service as " Assistant District Superintendent of Police. He served as "Assistant Superintendent, 1st Grade" of Ajmer Police and was 2 nd in command of Ajmer Police Corps.
September 1864- August 1868- William Bedford Peppin served as " Officiating District Superintendent of Police of Mirzapore". He later reverted to his original position as " Assistant District Superintendent of Police, Allahabad Division" and served as "Assistant Superintendent of Police " for 4 years.
August 1867- William Bedford Peppin was appointed " Municipal Commissioner of Etawah".
1868-1874- William Bedford Peppin was promoted to "District Superintendent of Police". He served as "District Superintendent of Police of Etawah" for 6 years.
13 December 1874- 26 March 1876- William Bedford Peppin served as " District Superintendent of Police of Jaunpur" for 2 years.
William Bedford Peppin married to Clara Duncan Harber (daughter of Surgeon Major Harber) on 13 July 1872 at Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India and died on 26 March 1876 at Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Note
The tomb of William Bedford Peppin lies in dilapidated condition when I first visited the cemetery. The next time I visited the cemetery his grave was missing.
